Elevating Students Through BMCC Looking for ways to ensure your students are prepared not just through their academic endeavors but are attending a school that will promote and institutionalize initiatives and curriculums for career progression, cultural expansion, academic enrichment and empowerment …look no further, BMCC is pushing our students beyond.
BMCC high achieving students have access to a network of premier selective institutions through our Transfer Scholars Network.
HBCU Partner Programs
For those students looking to be immersed in an environment that combines cultural enrichment with academic excellence, offering students the opportunity to belong, be understood, and reach their full potential, the Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Hispanic Serving Institutions Partnership program is the way to go.
CUNY Beyond
BMCC is one of four colleges part of the early roll out of CUNY Beyond, which is a new CUNY Initiative that seeks to connect students earlier in their college experience to the preparation that leads to career success. Through this initiative students will be prepared to launch and advance in their careers through “career exposure and exploration”, “integrated academic and career advisement,” “career connected learning,” “paid work-based learning” and “employer engagement.” We seek to push our students to get a leg up in their career through CUNY Beyond.
New York State Opportunity Program
For students between the ages of 25-55 who are looking to finally achieve a degree with tuition, books, supplies and mandatory fees covered. This initiative will help to address the educational gap for New Yorkers looking for second lease on their career opportunities.

Spring 2026 Semester
|
Though the weather will still be brisk, students can leap forward this spring and watch their goals bloom. Help your students get ahead by encouraging the completion of their enrollment.
We are currently assisting students with enrollment into the Spring semester now and throughout the month of January. Classes begin January 26, 2026.
If you have a student who is a little behind, maybe needs a smidge more time, wants to explore building some additional shorter class sessions into their schedule, consider BMCC’s Express Sessions.

Second Chance Application
If you support a student who attended another institution and did not perform to their best ability, and need a fresh start, consider encouraging your student to apply through the Second Chance Application.
Students need to first complete the general CUNY application, receive a denial, then they will be prompted to complete the Second Chance Application. This application offers an opportunity to give insight to the student and circumstances surrounding their performance. We are not our biggest mistakes and BMCC believes in fostering an environment of Second Chances. If you have questions regarding the Second Chance Application or need support please reach out to me, Randessa Atherley-Cooper, ratherley@bmcc.cuny.edu
