Final Call for the August Haul As your BMCC-bound students prepare for their first day of classes, we hope the content of this newsletter affords peace of mind and reassurance as students embark on their collegiate journey.

Our aim as a Recruitment Team is to ensure all incoming and prospective students have three considerations in mind:

2) Their best fit success program /support service(s),
3) Their desired destination institution after BMCC

BMCC At Your College Fair! - Mindful that many counselors are returning from the summer break, as you finalize your college fair dates, please be sure to send your invites to admissions@bmcc.cuny.edu with "College Fair Invite" in the subject line. We will make our best attempt to honor all requests within our capacity.

Financial Aid Information - Our students save thousands of dollars by applying to financial aid. When filling out the Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), choose the "2023-24 FAFSA" for the Summer/Fall 2023-Spring 2024 school year semester. BMCC's FAFSA School Code: 002691

Virtual & In-Person Registration & Academic Advisor Details for Incoming Students - BMCC's Academic Advising Transfer Center is hosting virtual & in-person sessions to support any students who have yet to register for classes. More information here.

Degree Under Three (DU3) is another BMCC exclusive success initiative designed to support students who are committed to graduating in under three years.

Participants will be placed in a cohort with other highly motivated and truly dedicated students determined to author their own narrative about persistence and graduation rates in a community college setting.

A team of personal coaches and academic advisers will work with students to help plan courses and ensure they have the support needed to succeed inside, and outside, the classroom.

Recognizing that not all students may have access to the necessary tools to stay on track and/or to help reduce any barriers faced in obtaining a college degree, DU3 is an equalizer.

Program Benefits

• Being part of a group (cohort) of students who have the same goal of graduating in under three years
• A designated academic success coach who will arrange one-on-one meetings and provide guidance to address any concerns as they arise
• Workshops to help achieve academic and professional goals
• Career counseling to help identify the best possible career path
• Monthly email check-ins with personal coach to help stay on track
• Tuition-free summer/winter courses (subject to program conditions and requirements)
• Financial Incentives (subject to program conditions and requirements)

• Be accepted to study and currently enrolled at BMCC
• Not a member of ASAP, BMCC Learning Academy, College Discovery Program or Panther Partners.

• Doubling down on our commitment as a Hispanic Serving Institution, BMCC Recruitment will be hosting an exclusive Counselor Reception on Thursday, November 2^nd in conjunction with the Latino College Expo (LCE).
