VERSUS magazine is a fictional magazine I created during my leisure time. Usually video games are a media that is very loud, so I went for big fonts that were made to immediately capture the attention of passersby. In addition, I also wanted the central figure (Terry Bogard) to have a huge presence on the cover. Terry taking up the image is meant to feel in your face. My fundamental philosophy was to keep information packed in and focused as letters are not resting on the edges of the image.

This is a magazine spread for a placeholder article I wrote. I tried to stick with three fonts only, as two are for design (title and pull quote) and one for the main content on the page. Overall, The cover and spread page took about 2 ½ hours to conceptualize and design.

Another design exercise! Showcasing the font Goudy. I was going for something really playful, but also displaying information about the fonts symbols and history. My favorite thing about this piece is the orientation of the numbers and the symbols on the left and right corners. For color, I was inspired by the brand United Colors of Benetton. It took me 1 hour to conceptualize and design the piece.

I was asked to design a newsletter header for Borough Of Manhattan Community Colleges Community Outreach Newsletter. The design goal of the piece was to create something that was playful, but making sure that BMCC's branding and colors were properly represented. I used Illustrator to design the school’s paw logo and to handle the font. Photoshop was used for the background, as the program was great for compositing all assets and images into the final product. Took 1 ½ hours to complete.
